Soil Testing Is Now Available for Home Lawns and Gardens!

Posted On May 14, 2020— Written By

The North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (NCDA&CS) is accepting soil samples from the general public. Due to COVID-19, the labs are operating with reduced staff. Check this site for your results, but expect a longer wait time. Soil sample testing is free through Thanksgiving.

Soil test boxes, instructions on taking a sample, and the required form are available at the front door of the Pitt County Agriculture Center, 403 Government Circle, Greenville, NC  27834. You may leave your samples at the kiosk. Samples are brought into the Pitt County office at the end of each workday and sent to the Raleigh lab twice monthly.

While you wait for your results, Carolina Lawns is a helpful N.C. Cooperative Extension publication that can prepare you to have a beautiful and healthy lawn.
