Thank you for making this a memorable summer with Pitt County 4-H! We hope your camper had an incredible time “learning by doing” and creating new friendships. As we wrap up the 2025 summer camp season, we need your help to make next year’s camps even better.

Your feedback is invaluable. By sharing your experience, you help us understand what we did well and where we can improve. We’ve created a brief post-summer camp survey and would be so grateful if you took a few minutes to complete it. Your honest feedback will directly influence our planning for 2026, from the activities we offer to the resources we provide.

Highlights from the 2025 Pitt County 4-H Summer Camps

Thank you to all the campers, families, and volunteers who made the 2025 Pitt County 4-H Summer Camp season an incredible success! We were thrilled to see so many young people diving into new experiences, learning valuable skills, and making lasting memories. As we reflect on a summer well spent, we want to share some highlights from a few of our most popular camps.

Farm to Table Camp: From Seed to Supper

This year’s at Farm to Table our 4-H foodies went on a journey from the field to the kitchen, discovering where their food truly comes from. Campers visited local farms, met with farmers, and learned about sustainable agriculture. The highlight for many was harvesting fresh produce and transforming it into delicious meals with their own hands. The week culminated in a “Chopped”-style cooking challenge, where teams put their newfound skills in food safety and culinary creation to the test.

Goat and Lamb Camp: Animal Care and Showmanship Skills

The barnyard was buzzing with excitement at our Goat and Lamb Camp! Campers learned the ins and outs of livestock care, from proper nutrition and housing to grooming and health. This hands-on experience taught them responsibility and empathy. The week concluded with our annual Goat and Lamb Camp Show, where campers proudly demonstrated their showmanship skills, showing off their animals and what they learned throughout the week.

State Park Explorers: A Journey into North Carolina’s Natural Wonders

Our State Park Explorers Camp successfully addressed the need for youth to connect with the natural world. Campers traded screen time for trail time, exploring the diverse ecosystems of local state parks. They learned how to use a trail map, identify local wildlife and plants, and practiced environmental stewardship. Our campers hiked an estimated 10 miles throughout the week, earning their Junior Ranger badges and a new appreciation for the outdoors.

Fitness Fun: Building Healthy Habits for Life

Staying active has never been more fun! Fitness Fun with 4-H was all about building healthy habits through engaging and exciting activities. Campers participated in a variety of fitness fun including,  strength training, cardio and flexibility workouts. They learned the importance of good nutrition while creating healthy snacks, all while having a blast and making new friends.

Baking Camp: A Sweet Success

Our Baking Camp was a hit with aspiring pastry chefs! Young bakers learned essential kitchen skills, including measuring, mixing, and kneading. From cupcakes to hand pies, campers mastered new recipes and techniques. They also learned about food safety and the science behind baking, gaining confidence in the kitchen and creating delicious treats to share with their families.
