N.C. Cooperative Extension, Pitt County Center, in conjunction with Bertie, Edgecombe, Halifax, Hertford, Martin, Nash, and Northampton, is conducting a corn variety test. The study is examining 18 different varieties from 10 different seed companies. The test site is located at 9322-9368 W Marlboro Rd.

The data that N.C. Cooperative Extension, Pitt County Center collects will aid the decision-making process next season on what variety works best here. When selecting what varieties are best for you, NC State Extension has created an Official Variety Testing (OVT) tool. Back in 2022, when I was an intern here in Pitt County, I created a

and fact sheet to showcase the OVT tool.
