Collapse ▲This spring, Pitt County 4-H will be offering a variety of SPIN Clubs. A 4-H SPIN Club is a special interest club where five or more young people learn about a topic of interest for 6+ meetings. This spring we will be offering the following programs: CloverQuest, Livestock Judging, Sew Much Fun, Jr. Master Gardeners, and AIRE ( Application, Interview, Resume, and Essay).
As a reminder, all youth must be registered in 4-H Online to participate in our SPIN Club programs
4-HOnline is a secured system that is in compliance with the PCI Security Standards Council that houses our medical and consent forms, which are necessary for all clubs and programs. Please choose “Member At Large” for the club and ”New Member Guide” for the project when prompted.
If your child is not yet 5 but will be 5 by January 1, 2024, please complete the registration form and contact Ms. Lauren. They are allowed to participate but not able to sign up in 4-H online until January 2024.
All of our 2024 Spring SPIN clubs are free of charge; however, due to space restrictions, some of our clubs will have a limit on the number of youth that can participate. Please only sign your child up if they will be attending each meeting.
2024 Spring SPIN CLUBS
CloverQuest: Ages 5-7
This club is designed to introduce youth ages 5-7 to 4-H! Each meeting will focus on different H’s (Head, Heart, Hands, and Health). Activities will include but are not limited to: Livestock, STEM, Health Living, Arts, Global Thinking + more! Date: 2nd Saturday of the month beginning January 13th

Jr. Master Gardeners:
Ages 5-18
Members of this 4-H club will work with Extension Master Gardener volunteers who will teach youth about plant and soil science, insects & diseases, and more. Prepare to get your hands in the dirt as youth will be helping plant and maintain their very on garden here at the Pitt County Arboretum.

Sew Much Fun:
Ages 8-14
Members will learn the basics of sewing, complete sewing projects and can continue through intermediate and advanced levels of sewing.

A.I.R.E ( Application, Interview, Resume, Essay)
Ages 11-18
AIRE (Application,Interview,Resume and Essay) is a workforce development and college prep program. Youth are eligible to participate in this program in one of two ways. Non-Competitive ages 11-13 and Competitive ages 14-18. Each week youth will learn skills to help prepare them for the workforce and college!
All meetings will be Virtual (Except for Mock Interview the week of May 28-31)

Livestock Judging Team:
Ages 8-18
Members of this team will work with the county Livestock to learn the process of evaluating, selecting, placing, and learning the various livestock species–beef cattle, sheep, and swine. Youth will also learn the process of giving oral reason and public speaking. During the course of the club youth will travel to different farms and compete in various competitions through the spring and summer.
* This is a competitive program that meets weekly*
