4-H Fall Updates 2026

Pitt County 4-H newsletter promoting fall events, council updates, leadership opportunities, and community programs.

Key Information & Updates

  • County Council Meetings & Elections: Meetings move to the 1st Monday of each month at 6:30 PM at the Pitt County Agricultural Center. The first combined Council and Volunteer meeting takes place September 21, 2026, and will include officer nomination speeches. Youth ages 13+ with 2 years of 4-H experience can apply for officer roles.
  • Pitt County Fair (Sept 22–27): Clubs can set up educational booths following the theme "Stars, Stripes, and Fair Nights" (entry notice due Sept 1). Livestock show registration opens Aug 28, with specific show events held on Sept 26.
  • NC State Fair (Oct 15–25): 4-H competition entries are due by September 15.
  • Volunteer Opportunities: The Northeast District 4-H Volunteer Leaders' Fall Day will be held on November 7, 2026, in Louisburg, NC (free registration and lunch included). Adult volunteer award nominations are due October 30.
  • Homeschool & Community Clubs: 4-H is gathering interest for Fall Homeschool Days and short-term SPIN clubs, while year-round Community Clubs are open for enrollment.
  • Important Deadlines: National 4-H Week is October 4–11; the Wreath Sale fundraiser begins October 1 (orders due Nov 18); and all participants must complete 4-H Online registration.
