4-H Teen Leadership Program: Summer 2024
Pitt County 4-H is always looking for enthusiastic youth volunteers to serve as camp counselors! Being a camp counselor can be a very rewarding experience, but it is also a great responsibility and commitment.
Complete applications are due through the online application system by June 3rd.
This year there are two track options. Please review all the information for requirements, deadlines, and expectations. If you have any questions, please contact the Extension Office.
Track 1: Volunteer Hours Only. With this option teens are applying to volunteer with the 2024 4-H Summer Fun Program. There are no time requirements, teens volunteer according to their available schedule.- Attend required trainings prior to camp
Track 2: Congress Trip Applicant: Congress Trip applications are working to earn a trip to N.C 4-H State Congress.
[4-H Congress is an annual educational event sponsored by North Carolina 4-H and planned by the State 4-H Council and Congress Advisory Committee. North Carolina 4-H’ers ages 13-18 are invited to participate in this annual event.]
In order to earn a prorated trip to 4-H Congress Teen Leadership Applicants must complete the following:- Attend required trainings prior to camp ( video training uploaded in Application Submission Form).
- Compete in the 4-H County and District Presentation Program or teach a lesson at a 4-H Summer Camp (youth will need to present their lesson to 4-H Staff before the scheduled camp date).
- Complete 40 Hours of volunteer work within the 4-H program (if 40 hours are not possible with the youths current schedule please speak with the 4-H office)
- $50.00 Deposit due by June 14.
