youth

In this day and time, many youth may be at home alone, or without supervision as they are attending school virtually. It is important that we educate our youth and make sure they are safe at home! This could benefit your child even if they were home under supervision. We want to make sure they know their information and know when to use it!

I have found a few activities from The Big Book of 4-H Cloverbud Activities that I think are very necessary for our youth right now. Typically, these activities would be taught by a 4-H leader, or myself, the 4-H Agent, but this is a great opportunity for families to get together and fellowship with one another over these activities. Youth must make choices affecting their safety and well-being every day. Help them learn to make wise decisions and follow safe practices at home.

The Safe At Home activities focus on a couple important life skills.

  1. Social and decision-making skills
  2. Large motor skills
  3. Fine motor skills

Here are some main points that your child will learn from the Safe At Home activities.

  1. Address and telephone numbers
  2. Fire safety and smoke alarms
  3. Poisons make you sick!
