Do you have a child ages 8-18 who is interested in gardening? If so, then the Pitt County “Market Garden” Project might be just for them! The Market Garden project is a 15-week program, beginning March 19, 2020, designed to help youth learn all the basics of starting their own garden. This is a recurring program that will meet on the following dates:

March 19, March 26, April 2, April 9, April 16, April 30, May 14, May 28, June 11, and June 25. Workshop times will be from 4–5:30 p.m. unless otherwise noted by program staff. All workshops will be held at the Pitt County Cooperative Extension Office: 403 Government Circle, Greenville NC 27834.

Over the course of the program, youth will work with Cooperative Extension Service professionals to learn how to plant and maintain a garden! On select days they will venture into the kitchen, learning how to prepare healthy and delicious recipes featuring their garden produce!
