Home & Family

The foundation of our society is the family. Many of Extension's programs provide families with research-based answers to their day-to-day challenges. Extension is ready with answers on controlling household insects, protecting well-water, managing a family budget, helping families improve their eating habits, or dealing with the special concerns related to early childhood, parenting, or aging.

The goal of Family and Consumer Education is to strengthen families. Programs focus on preventive education and provide information needed by families to improve their quality of life. While programming efforts and delivery formats have evolved to meet the changing needs and issues of the time, the primary goal remains the same: the enhancement of the economic and personal well being of individuals, families and communities through research based education.
